11:24 pm: Seven Palestinians, two Israelis killed in West Bank
Nine people were killed Sunday in the occupied West Bank, including seven Palestinians, in an airstrike by the Israeli army, sources on both sides said.
Violence in the West Bank since the start of Israel's war with Gaza-based Hamas militants has surged to levels unseen in nearly two decades. 1:15 pm: Amid warnings to Houthis, US military downs another drone over Red Sea
US military forces shot down a drone early Saturday over the Red Sea in international waters near several commercial vessels, the Pentagon said.
The incident came just days after a 12-nation group led by the United States warned Houthi rebels in Yemen against continuing their attacks on Red Sea shipping.
The US Central Command said in a social media post Saturday that "an unmanned aerial vehicle launched from Iranian-backed Houthi-controlled areas of Yemen was shot down in self-defense" by the USS Laboon, an Arleigh Burke-class destroyer. Read the full report here.
