Un grupo presuntamente vinculado a la inteligencia iraní reivindicó el martes la autoría de un ataque contra un medio de comunicación crítico con el régimen, días después de haber hackeado supuestamente la cuenta personal del director del FBI. Teherán recurre cada vez más a las operaciones cibernéticas en el contexto de la guerra que mantiene con Estados Unidos e Israel .
Lo sucedido: El grupo de hackers Handala afirmó haber hackeado y tomado el control total del sitio web y las redes sociales del medio de comunicación IranWire. Handala aseguró haber obtenido correspondencia e información sobre afiliados de IranWire, describiendo al medio como un "medio hostil" respaldado por la CIA.
El martes, Handala publicó imágenes de su logotipo en las páginas de IranWire en X, Instagram, Facebook y Telegram, aunque las cuentas funcionaron con normalidad más tarde ese mismo día. El sitio web de IranWire llevaba varios días mostrando el mensaje "Actualmente estamos realizando tareas de mantenimiento programadas" antes de que Handala denunciara el hackeo.
