Protests in northern Lebanon against virus-related lockdowns turn deadly

Lebanon's 24/7 lockdown has angered people in Tripoli amid a crippling economic crisis, and clashes have left hundreds injured and at least one dead.

Protesters angry at the coronavirus-related lockdown in Lebanon have been clashing with police this week.

Dozens of people were injured on Wednesday in the northern city of Tripoli as protesters hurled Molotov cocktails, fireworks and rocks, and police responded with tear gas and rubber bullets, the Lebanese outlet Naharnet reported.
