Turkish and Georgian border forces conducted a joint drill today aimed at deterring smuggling and irregular migration.

Georgian Border Police and the 25th Brigade of the Turkish army took part in the exercise. The soldiers simulated operations to arrest illegal migrants and prevent the smuggling of cattle across the border. Georgia’s Ministry of Internal Affairs said in a statement that the purpose of the exercise was to share experience and improve Turkish-Georgian cooperation on border security.
