ALEPPO, Syria — A workshop was held July 15 at the headquarters of the Syrian opposition's self-styled interim government in Azaz, in the northern Aleppo countryside. The local councils’ heads of the towns and villages of Aleppo countryside, the interim government’s ministers and Prime Minister Abdul Rahman Mustafa, who is now in charge of forming a new government, attended the workshop — titled, “The local coordination, between what’s real and what’s longed for — that paid tribute to some of the local councils’ heads in the Free Syrian Army (FSA)-held areas in Aleppo countryside. Such workshops and activities are part of the efforts to mobilize support for a new interim government, led by Mustafa.

Anas al-Abdah, the president of the National Coalition for Syrian Revolutionary and Opposition Forces (SNC), visited July 4 the FSA-held northern Aleppo countryside, accompanied by Mustafa and other SNC members.

Speaking to the press at the SNC headquarters east of al-Rai town, Abdah said, “The SNC is not here seeking any authorization. Rather it seeks to build a genuine legitimacy and gain confidence through hard work and by achieving the desired results.”

The SNC’s delegation visited the same day al-Rai local council and the town's crossing, and said that during the visit they inspected the interim government’s institutions in the liberated parts of Aleppo countryside.
