Will Russia succeed where the US has failed?

Russian President Vladimir Putin recently called his Palestinian counterpart, Mahmoud Abbas, and expressed his readiness to push the peace process forward and resume negotiations.

Russian President Vladimir Putin had a telephone conversation July 12 with his Palestinian counterpart, Mahmoud Abbas, to discuss the so-called deal of the century, the Bahrain economic workshop, the two-state solution and the establishment of a Palestinian state.

Palestinian news agency Wafa described the call as “long and deep.”
