The Israeli military has not yet changed its current guidance for the civilian population.

Only a small circle of Israeli decision-makers is privy to the military and intelligence coordination with the United States ahead of a possible American strike on Tehran.

Confidentiality levels are reportedly unprecedented, even compared with Israel’s June 2025 strike on Iran, Maariv reported Thursday. Most cabinet ministers have not been briefed on details of US preparations for a potential military strike, the report added, noting that a security cabinet meeting originally set for Thursday was postponed until Sunday. Officials did not provide a reason for the last-minute change.

The Israeli military is currently on high alert for a possible US strike in Iran as the Pentagon continues its military buildup in the region, according to Israeli media.

Still, Israeli military spokesperson Brig. Gen. Effie Defrin said Thursday morning that the public should not panic, stating that "the army has long been prepared to provide maximum defense. If we are attacked, we will respond forcefully. There is no change in our assessment of the situation."
