Russian women's rights activist Anastasia Yemelyanova, based in Turkey, was reportedly found dead in Turkey's eastern province of Erzurum on Sunday, according to her fellow activists' social media posts.

Yemelyanova used to broadcast programs on the YouTube channel Feminists Explain.

Her disappearance in Erzurum on Sept. 20 came to light through a missing person post shared by Instagram user a_polozok (the account belongs to Anastasia Polozkova, according to The Moscow Times), who said she was a close friend of Yemelyanova. She said Yemelyanova was 32 years old.

Yemelyanova’s body was found on Sunday, according to a_polozok. She also claimed that Yemelyanova’s friends had attempted to file a missing person report with the Turkish police last week, but their request was reportedly denied.
