Anti-government protests continued throughout Syria on Tuesday, further challenging President Bashar al-Assad’s rule amid a worsening economic crisis.

Hundreds of people demonstrated in the southern city of Suwayda and the surrounding areas for the third day in a row against poor living conditions in Syria. The crowd also called for Assad’s downfall, the UK-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights reported.

Videos on social media showed large crowds chanting the Arab Spring slogan "the people want the fall of the regime."
