Lebanon’s military tribunal charged seven suspects on Thursday in the killing of an Irish peacekeeper and member of the United Nations' peacekeeping force in south Lebanon (UNIFIL) stationed at the border between Lebanon and Israel.

Pvt. Sean Rooney, 24, was killed last month when his convoy was ambushed and came under fire. Two other soldiers sustained light injuries. The attack took place in Al-Aqbiya, an area known to be home to supporters of the Lebanese Hezbollah group.
