Israeli strikes on Syria put Damascus airport briefly out of service, kill two
The Syrian government said on Monday that a string of Israeli strikes hit Damascus International Airport putting its service to a halt for nearly seven hours.
A series of Israeli airstrikes targeted Damascus International Airport overnight on Monday putting the country’s main airport out of service and killing two soldiers.
According to state-run Syria National News Agency, SANA, the attack killed two soldiers.
“At about 2 in the morning, the Israeli enemy carried out an air attack with barrages of missiles from the direction northeast of Lake Tiberias, targeting Damascus International Airport and its surroundings," SANA reported.
"It led to the death of two soldiers, the wounding of two others, some material losses and Damascus International Airport being put out of service."
