Young Nubians collect Egypt's traditional songs

A group of young Nubians are working to preserve their heritage languages by creating a collection of traditional songs and organizing village visits for young learners.

A group of young Egyptian Nubians is working to breathe new life into modern Nubian languages via the Nobig Koro initiative, which seeks to promote the languages via Nubian art and songs.

Speakers of Egypt's Nubian languages, Nobiin and Kenzi, were splintered by the forced displacement of Nubians under the era of Egyptian President Gamal Abdel Nasser in the 1960s. Since then, many have spoken Arabic across Egypt.
