Rep. Joe Wilson

A Republican congressman on Friday introduced a bill focused on human rights in Iran ahead of the Persian new year.

The Iran Human Rights and Accountability Act introduced by Rep. Joe Wilson of South Carolina would require the US government to investigate alleged human rights abuses committed by the Islamic Republic. The bill would require a report to be issued on wealth obtained via corruption by Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, a determination into whether Iran and allied militias have committed war crimes in Syria and more.
