Egypt, Japan sign 12 investment deals as Cairo floats industrial zone plan
Egypt has been wooing foreign investment as it recovers from its worst financial downturn in over six decades.
Egypt and Japan signed 12 investment agreements at a forum in Tokyo on Tuesday across sectors ranging from education and IT to energy.
What happened: The Egypt-Japan Investment Forum brought together senior officials and business leaders from both countries. Egyptian Prime Minister Mustafa Madbouly and senior ministers from both cabinets also attended, Ahram reported.
Madbouly has been campaigning to encourage foreign companies to invest in Egypt.
