Albania to receive 'significant' number of drones from Turkey, PM says
Turkey pledged to send drones to Egypt earlier this year, while the Maldives recently unveiled two Bayraktar TB2 aircraft.
Albania will receive an unspecified number of drones from Turkey, the Balkan state’s head of government said on Thursday, as Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan seeks to solidify relations during a tour of the region.
Prime Minister Edi Rama said that Turkey will provide Albania with a “significant” number of kamikaze drones.
“It is a gift that comes as a strong message from the Republic of Turkey that Albania is unhittable,” said Rama at a joint press conference, according to multiple reports.
Rama did not provide further details, including the type of drone. He said the acquisition does not mean Albania will “attack” anyone.
