Iran FM looks to more nuclear talks, but warns US

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said on Saturday he hoped talks with the United States would resume soon, while reiterating Tehran's red lines and warning against any American attack.

According to excerpts published on his official Telegram channel during an interview with the Al Jazeera network, Araghchi said that Iran's missile programme was "never negotiable" in Friday's talks in Oman.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is expected to raise the ballistic missiles programme in a meeting with US President Donald Trump in Washington next week.

The indirect talks between Washington and Tehran are taking place with the US having repeatedly threatened military action against Iran

US plans meeting for Gaza 'Board of Peace' in Washington on Feb 19, Axios reports

WASHINGTON, Feb 6 (Reuters) - The White House is planning the first leaders meeting for President Donald Trump's so-called "Board of Peace" in relation to Gaza on February 19, Axios reported on Friday, citing a U.S. official and diplomats from four countries that are on the board.

The plans for the meeting, which would also be a fundraising conference for Gaza reconstruction, are in early stages and could still change, Axios reported.

Trump signs order threatening tariffs on nations doing business with Iran

WASHINGTON, Feb 6 (Reuters) - U.S. President Donald Trump signed an executive order on Friday that may impose a 25% tariff on countries that do business with Iran.

The order comes as tensions between Iran and U.S. continue to simmer even as the two countries engaged in talks this week.

Thousands attend burial of slain son of Libya's Gaddafi

Thousands turned out on Friday for the burial of the slain son of former Libyan ruler Muammar Gaddafi in a town that still holds allegiance to the late longtime leader.

Seif al-Islam Gaddafi, once seen by some as Libya's heir apparent, was shot dead in his home in the northwestern city of Zintan on Tuesday.

His burial in the town of Bani Walid, some 175 kilometres (110 miles) south of Tripoli, brought together thousands of Gaddafi loyalists, nearly 15 years after the ruler was toppled and killed in a 2011 NATO-backed uprising.

Some came from other parts of the country.

US says 'key participant' in 2012 attack on Benghazi mission arrested

One of the "key participants" behind the 2012 attack on the US mission in Benghazi that left the ambassador and three other Americans dead has been arrested, officials said Friday.

Attorney General Pam Bondi said the suspect, Zubayr al-Bakoush, has been brought to the United States and will face murder and other charges.

"The FBI has arrested one of the key participants behind the Benghazi attack," Bondi said at a press conference. "Bakoush will now face American justice on American soil."

Exclusive-Some UAE companies pull out of Saudi defence show as Gulf rift spills into business

DUBAI, Feb 6 (Reuters) - Some UAE companies have pulled out of a major defence show taking place in Saudi Arabia, two sources with direct knowledge of the matter told Reuters, the latest sign that a rift between the two Gulf oil powers is seeping into business interests.

The World Defense Show is set to take place in the Saudi capital Riyadh from February 8-12. It was not immediately clear if all the UAE participants involved in the country pavilion had withdrawn.

US arrests Benghazi suspect, Bondi says

WASHINGTON, Feb 6 (Reuters) - The United States has arrested a person suspected of playing a role in the 2012 attack on the U.S. consulate in Benghazi, Libya. Attorney General Pam Bondi said on Friday.

Bondi said Zubayar al-Bakoush has been extradited to the United States and will face murder, arson and terrorism related charges.
