Oman will make it easier for expat workers to switch jobs

Under a previous order, foreign workers were barred from switching companies without explicit permission from their employers.

Foreign workers wanting to switch jobs in Oman will have an easier time doing so under a new government order reported over the weekend.

Under the law, foreign workers were barred from switching companies unless they were granted a so-called no-objection certificate by their employers. Without such documentation, they were banned from working in the country for two years.
