Egypt registers highest number of coronavirus cases in single day

Egyptian health officials reported 910 new cases Wednesday, bringing the total number of registered coronavirus infections in the country to more than 19,000.

Egypt marked its highest single-day numbers in COVID-19 cases since record-keeping began in February, the Health Ministry said Wednesday.  

Health officials reported 910 new positive tests for the coronavirus over a 24-hour period, bringing the total number of cases to 19,666. The ministry announced 19 more deaths, for a total of 816 nationwide.
