Israel-UAE flights disrupted as airlines plan rescue flights: What to know

Israeli carriers are preparing repatriation flights from Dubai starting on Friday, subject to security approval.

FlyDubai's suspension of Israel flights left travelers without a major Dubai connection on Thursday, with Emirates also halting onward bookings to Tel Aviv and Israeli airlines preparing flights to bring stranded passengers home.

The disruption followed Wednesday’s cockpit attack aboard a Dubai-Tel Aviv flight that diverted to Saudi Arabia. The United Arab Emirates announced Thursday that prosecutors would investigate the incident, including whether it involved “terrorist activity or intent.”

What happened: FlyDubai said late Wednesday that flights to and from Israel would remain suspended while authorities investigate the incident aboard flight FZ1073. No date for resuming services has been announced.
