Iran regime turns sights on UAE as war widens beyond conventional front
Iran's hard-line authorities are particularly sharpening threats against the United Arab Emirates, signaling a potential shift in targeting the Gulf state for enabling US and Israeli operations.
TEHRAN — Iran's war rhetoric is increasingly zeroing in on the United Arab Emirates, with senior officials, state-aligned media and military figures adopting a more explicit threat posture toward Abu Dhabi.
What began as implicit warnings has now turned into direct, public signaling. In recent days, statements from senior figures — including parliament speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf — have pointed to a growing belief in Tehran that the UAE is not merely aligned with Western powers but is actively facilitating operations against Iran.
"Based on certain data, Iran's enemies, with the support of a regional country, are preparing to occupy one of Iran's islands," Ghalibaf warned in an X post. "All enemy movements are under full surveillance by our armed forces. If they make a move, all vital infrastructure of that regional country will be targeted with no limits."
While the UAE was not named explicitly, Iranian media and political circles have left little ambiguity about the intended target.
