President Donald Trump said the event marks the “single greatest chance” for the Iranian people to take their country back.
President Donald Trump said in a Truth Social post that Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei is dead, calling it the “single greatest chance” for the Iranian people to take their country back.
“Khamenei, one of the most evil people in History, is dead,”Trump wrote. “This is not only Justice for the people of Iran, but for all Great Americans, and those people from many Countries throughout the World, that have been killed or mutilated by Khamenei and his gang of bloodthirsty THUGS."
Israel and the United States launched strikes on Iran in the early hours of Saturday, Feb. 28, hitting Tehran and cities across at least 20 provinces, according to Iranian state media.
Earlier on Saturday, Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei denied reports of Khamenei's death, saying he was "safe and sound," in an interview with ABC News.
