Israel holds drills, prepares missile defenses for possible Iran attack: What to know

Israel is on high alert over the possibility of an American strike on Iran, which could trigger Iranian retaliation against the Jewish state.

For now, Israeli authorities have not issued special instructions to the public on limiting gatherings or enforced any new security guidelines. However, Israel’s public broadcaster Kan reported Sunday that the military’s Intelligence Directorate and Air Force are continuously assessing the situation and preparing for such a scenario.

No change to home front command 

As the Islamic Republic continues to crack down on demonstrations sweeping the country, Israel is preparing for two main possibilities: an American strike on Iran, or an Iranian strike on the Jewish state in a potential bid by Tehran to divert attention and shift the regional security situation. President Donald Trump is set to be briefed on Tuesday by senior national security officials on options for responding to the regime's clampdown on protesters, The Wall Street Journal first reported.
