Kushner, Witkoff meet with UAE’s Sheikh Tahnoon as US pushes to reinforce Gaza ceasefire

The visit by the American envoys to the UAE comes right after their visit to Israel in an attempt to stabilize President Donald Trump’s Gaza ceasefire plan.

The UAE’s influential national security adviser, Sheikh Tahnoon bin Zayed Al Nahyan, met with US envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner on Wednesday in Abu Dhabi.  

According to the UAE’s state news agency, WAM, the meeting focused on the latest developments surrounding the ceasefire in Gaza and ongoing US efforts to consolidate the agreement reached under President Donald Trump’s plan.  

During the meeting, Sheikh Tahnoon praised US President Donald Trump’s “efforts to end the war in Gaza and his commitment to promoting peace and stability in the Middle East” and acknowledged the roles played by Witkoff and Kushner in brokering and advancing the current ceasefire framework. 

Discussions also touched on the need to “strengthen opportunities for prosperity and sustainable development in the Middle East,” according to WAM.
