On Thursday, Qatari Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani attended a funeral for the Hamas members killed in the Israeli strike on Doha two days earlier, as diplomatic fallout for Israel continued to build.

The funeral for the six men killed was held at the Imam Abdul Wahhab Mosque in Doha at around 3:30 p.m. local time (8:30 a.m. ET) following the afternoon prayer. The Hamas members, along with Cpl. Badr Saad Mohammed al-Humaidi from Qatar's Internal Security Forces, who were killed will be buried at Mesaimeer Cemetery located near the city, the Qatari Interior Ministry announced.

The Imam Abdul Wahhab Mosque, the largest in Doha, is sometimes used for official state functions.

Sheikh Tamim attended the mosque for the service and participated in the prayer alongside the bodies of the deceased. The coffins of the Hamas members were draped in Palestinian flags while the Qatari corporal’s coffin had the flag of Qatar on top of it, according to Al Jazeera’s Arabic broadcast.
