The Abu Dhabi-based AD Ports Group opened its first office in the Chinese capital, Beijing, on Thursday, a further sign of increasing trade and economic ties between the United Arab Emirates and China.

AD Ports Group said the office will coordinate its investment and commercial activities in both China and the rest of Asia. Noatum Logistics, a subsidiary of the group, will operate at the same location, focusing on commercial activity in the Beijing-Tianjin region, according to an AD Ports Group statement released on Thursday.

“Specifically, the office will play a key role in advancing the Group’s presence domestically and along China’s Belt and Road network,” said AD Ports Group in the statement.

The company added that the office will enable them to expand in Asia by finding "emerging trade and logistics opportunities."
