Somalia's FM visits Azerbaijan, talks energy cooperation: What we know
Somalia and Azerbaijan agreed to strengthen cooperation in various fields during the Somali foreign minister’s visit to Baku.
Somali Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Abdisalam Abdi Ali held talks with his Azeri counterpart during an official visit to Baku on Thursday as ties between the two countries deepen.
What happened: Abdi Ali was welcomed by Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov at the ministry headquarters in the capital Baku. Their one-on-one meeting covered a wide range of topics including bilateral ties, cooperation with international organizations and regional developments, the Azeri Foreign Ministry said in a statement.
They also reviewed ways to increase cooperation between Somalia and Azerbaijan in various fields including trade, agriculture, energy and the oil and gas industry, the statement added.
A tête-à-tête meeting was held between Foreign Minister @Bayramov_Jeyhun and Somalia Foreign Minister @AbdisalamDhaay.

The Somali Foreign Ministry described the meeting as “productive,” saying in a statement that it reflected “the strong diplomatic momentum between the two countries and reaffirmed their commitment to a brotherly and mutually beneficial partnership.”
