Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman and US President Donald Trump signed the Strategic Economic Partnership Document between the two countries on Tuesday, ushering in a raft of trade and investment deals amounting to $600 billion.

What happened: The announcements were made on the first day of Trump’s trip to the Gulf, meeting in Riyadh with the de facto Saudi leader as well as other senior officials and business leaders.

The economic partnership agreement, worth $600 billion, includes energy, mining and defense pacts, according to a White House readout.

Deals from sectors ranging from energy to artificial intelligence began to trickle in from the trip as the Saudi-US Investment Forum was underway at the Royal Palace in the capital Riyadh.
