More than 1,000 people were killed in Lebanon since Israel’s escalation against Hezbollah earlier this month, with an additional 118,000 displaced.

Lebanon’s Ministry of Public Health said in a Saturday statement that 1,041 people have been killed and 6,460 injured between Sept. 16 and Sept. 28.

The ministry reported more deaths on Monday, saying Israeli strikes on Sunday left 12 dead in Hermel, located in the northeast Bekaa Valley, and 45 dead in Ain Ed Delb in the south, according to the official National News Agency.

The ministry has not reported a comprehensive toll of casualties for Sunday and Monday.
