Hezbollah fighters killed in Syria as conflict with Israel rages

Clashes between Israel and Hezbollah are continuing, though the Iran-backed group has signaled that it is being deterred from engaging in a full-blown war with Israel.

Hezbollah announced on Friday that several of its fighters were killed as the Iran-backed group continues to clash with Israel.

Via its news outlet Al-Manar, Hezbollah published the names of seven fighters who “embraced martyrdom on the pathway to Al-Quds,” the Arabic name for Jerusalem. The group did not mention where nor how the fighters were killed.

The Associated Press reported that the fighters were killed in Syria early on Friday, citing a Hezbollah official and a Lebanese security source.

The Israel Defense Forces said in a post on X early Friday morning it had struck an unspecified group in Syria that carried out a drone attack on a school in the southern Israeli city of Eilat on Thursday. "The IDF holds the Syrian regime fully responsible for every terror activity emanating from its territory," the post read.
