Hamas releases 10 Israeli, 2 Thai hostages as Gaza truce holds

Hamas has released 12 more hostages, 10 Israelis and 2 Thai nationals, Israeli authorities said on Tuesday. Among those released was a teenage girl together with her family dog.

Hamas released 12 more hostages, including 10 Israelis and two Thai nationals, Israeli authorities said on Tuesday.

Nine elderly Israeli women and one Israeli teenage girl were released from captivity in Gaza, the office of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said on Tuesday, adding that two Thai nationals were also released. The prime minister's statement said that the families of the hostages were all notified and the freed citizens are all on Israeli soil and on their way to Shiba hospital. The teenage girl was released together with her family dog.

The Israeli army said the release was carried out through the Red Cross and Egyptian representatives. "A short while ago, Red Cross representatives transferred the 12 hostages to Egypt," the Israel Defense Forces said in a statement. 

The Israeli hostages released Tuesday have been identified by Israeli authorities as Ditza Heiman, 84; Tamar Metzger, 78; Ada Sagi, 75; Merav Tal, 53; Rimon Kirsht, 36; Ofelia Roitman, 77; Gabriela Leimberg, 59; Mia Leimberg 17; Noralin Agojo Babadilla, 60; and Clara Marman, 62.
