The fuel shortages have added to the desperation of more than 2 million people trapped inside the enclave, which the Israel offensive has ravaged for more than a month.

A truck carrying fuel entered the Gaza Strip on Wednesday, the first such delivery since the outbreak of the Hamas-Israel war on Oct. 7.

Egyptian news channel Al-Qahera News first reported the entry of the fuel truck into Gaza via the Rafah border crossing with Egypt. A video showed the truck with an Egyptian flag and UNICEF logo emblazoned on it.

According to witnesses cited by Reuters, other fuel trucks were waiting at the crossing point to pass into Gaza.
