Oil spill hits Kuwait but production unaffected

Oil production was unaffected but some people were injured, according to the state-owned oil firm.

An oil spill occurred in Kuwait on Monday due to an oil leakage, but oil production was unaffected.

The state-owned Kuwait Oil Company said there was an oil leakage in an unspecified location in western Kuwait, prompting authorities to declare a state of emergency. The incident caused some injuries to personnel. No poisonous gas was detected and oil production was unaffected, the official Kuwait News Agency reported.
