Ankara faces new calls to release philanthropist Osman Kavala

On the fourth year of his imprisonment, Turkish philanthropist Osman Kavala issued a statement from prison, expressing hope that others will face a fairer trial.

A week after Turkey and 10 Western countries averted a diplomatic crisis over imprisoned philanthropist Osman Kavala, Ankara is once again facing calls for his release.

Meanwhile, Kavala made a call from prison saying that he hoped his predicament could help confront the crucial problems in the Turkish judiciary.
