Saudi oil squeeze deepens

Brent crude has been approaching its wartime peak of nearly $115 since Saudi authorities shut the key East-West Pipeline on Friday following a drone strike that Riyadh blamed on an Iraqi militia.

Saudi Arabia’s oil squeeze deepened this week as Houthi advances around the Bab el Mandeb compounded disruptions to the kingdom’s export infrastructure and dwindling traffic through the Strait of Hormuz, further tightening global supplies. Elsewhere, fuel price hikes sparked Syria’s largest protests since Bashar al-Assad’s fall, while AWS revealed lasting damage to its cloud infrastructure in Bahrain and the United Arab Emirates.
