Erdogan gets his long-coveted White House invite

Rumors that President Recep Tayyip Erdogan would get his long-coveted invitation to the White House, began swirling after it emerged this week that President Donald Trump’s oldest son, Donald Jr., met secretly last week with Erdogan in Istanbul.

As the world was fixated on President Donald Trump and the first lady’s royal welcome in the UK, it emerged that other members of the US president’s family had been hosted by Turkey’s latter-day sultan, President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, and a Turkish businessman. Today, Trump announced via Truth Social that he had invited Erdogan to the White House on Sept. 25.
