Or rather, welcome to Istanbul’s August alter ego: Bodrum. As the city exhales and the exodus begins, southbound ferries and flights find their mark. Cesme/Alacati — those inseparable twin towns — may be flashier (we’ll get to them next week), but Bodrum (ancient Halicarnassus) has been perfecting the mix of ruin and revelry for over three millennia.
