Saudi Arabia’s sovereign wealth fund is considering cutting support to LIV Golf as the kingdom shifts investment priorities away from sports and contends with losses tied to the US-Israel-Iran war, according to reports.

The league, however, says the 2026 season will proceed as planned, and a tournament in Mexico is currently underway.

The Financial Times reported on Wednesday that the Saudi Public Investment Fund (PIF) is “on the verge of cutting its support” for LIV Golf, while The Athletic, which is owned by The New York Times, reported that the fund is "preparing to pull its multibillion-dollar investment” in the league, with both outlets indicating the fund's investment is at risk.

Meanwhile, LIV Golf executives have been called to New York for an emergency meeting this week, according to The Telegraph.
