Why Iran sees UAE as attractive target in war against US, Israel

As the war enters its third week, the Gulf state has come under heavier Iranian missile and drone fire than its neighbors — and even more than Israel.

The United Arab Emirates has limited options in responding to Iran's strikes, experts say, as the Islamic Republic escalates its attacks and threats against the Gulf state. The UAE has been targeted disproportionately in the war, damaging key infrastructure. 

The Abu Dhabi Media Office said a drone strike caused a fire at the Shah oil field Monday evening.

Earlier the same day, it reported that another drone struck a fuel tank at Dubai International Airport, causing a fire. 

According to the Financial Times, the Gulf has been subjected to around 3,400 attacks since the beginning of the war. More than half have targeted the UAE.
