UAE’s DP World to invest $5B in India's infrastructure: What to know

The Dubai-headquartered logistics firm has already invested $3 billion into the South Asian nation over three decades.

DP World announced Thursday that it would invest $5 billion into India's infrastructure, adding to the $3 billion in capital the Emirati logistics firm has already injected into the South Asian nation over the past three decades. 

What happened: According to a DP World statement, the investment will focus on strengthening India’s infrastructure, multimodal connectivity and trade competitiveness. No timeline was given for the new investment.

The investment pledge was announced at the India Maritime Week 2025 summit in Mumbai.

Other memorandums signed at the event span green coastal shipping, shipbuilding, ship repair, skill development and advanced freight mobility. They include the following:
