UAE, Pakistan expand cooperation during crown prince's first visit: What we know
Pakistan is looking to the UAE for economic help, with recent agreements focused on mining, ports and railways.
The United Arab Emirates and Pakistan expanded cooperation on infrastructure, mining and banking during Abu Dhabi crown prince’s visit to Islamabad on Thursday.
This is Crown Prince Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed's first visit to Pakistan since assuming the title in 2023. He arrived in Islamabad on Thursday, leading a delegation that included UAE Secretary-General of the Supreme Council for National Security Ali Mohammed Hammad Al Shamsi, Director-General of Security Affairs at the Supreme Council for National Security Ghanem Al Suwaidi, and Investment Minister Mohamed Hassan Alsuwaidi, among others, according to the Abu Dhabi Media Office.
Sheikh Khaled and the Emirati officials were received by Pakistan's Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif. They discussed bilateral relations during a meeting and presided over the signing of various agreements. On the Pakistani side, Chief of the Army Staff Gen. Syed Asim Munir attended the meeting along with other federal officials, the state-run Associated Press of Pakistan reported.

Later on Thursday, Sheikh Khaled met Pakistani President Asif Ali Zardari, the Abu Dhabi Media Office said.
