Several trucks were seen entering Syrian territories from Jordan on Wednesday, one day after the kingdom announced it would reopen its crossing with Syria that was closed earlier this month amid the rebels’ lightning offensive in the neighboring country.

Al-Jazeera Arabic reported Wednesday that commercial movement had resumed at the Jaber border crossing, located opposite the Nasib crossing in south Syria.

The director of Al-Jazeera’s office in Jordan, Hassan al-Shobaki, added that dozens of trucks are expected to cross into Jordan later in the day, and others coming from Al-Omari area bordering Saudi Arabia will enter Syria through the Jaber crossing.

Qatar-based Al-Araby TV also reported the entry of Jordanian trucks from Syria into Jordan via the crossing.
