Suspected Israeli airstrikes hit Aleppo on Monday, constituting yet another attack on Syrian airports this year amid an continuing proxy war between Israel and Iran.

Syria’s official news outlet, SANA, reported that an “aerial aggression” at the Aleppo International Airport had occurred around 4:30 a.m. local time. The strike damaged a runway, causing the airport to go out of service. Flights to Aleppo were rerouted to Damascus and Lattakia, on the coast, according to SANA.

The UK-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR) reported that the strikes had not only targeted the Aleppo airport, but weapons warehouses at nearby Nairab military airport as well.

Neither SANA nor SOHR reported any casualties.
