How the US invests in the Middle East

In our latest PRO Trend Report, we take a deep-dive into American investment in the region and opportunities to expand it.

US investment Middle East

Historically, US investors have been shy about putting their money in the Middle East and North Africa. Regional countries received only $96 billion (1.5%) of the US' $6.5 trillion direct investment spent abroad in 2021. But that's been changing.

Sweeping economic reforms, glitzy symposiums and catchy diversification initiatives have underpinned regional state efforts to dress up their economies for foreign financial suitors. American foreign direct investment (FDI) in the region has crept up steadily since 2000 as a result.

In a new Trend Report, Jaime Moore-Carrillo breaks down what's behind this investment trend and what it will take to change it.
