All eyes in the Middle East, including Israel's, will turn to the White House next week for Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman's meeting with President Donald Trump. This week's visit by Syrian President Ahmed al-Sharaa to Washington ended without the security deal with Israel that US mediators had hoped for. Crown Prince Mohammed's expected meeting with Trump is also unlikely to yield a major breakthrough in Israel normalization. We unpack why.
