Israel launched three strikes in southern Beirut today after being targeted by rocket fire from Lebanon, reflecting the complex situation on that front four months after the signing of the Israel-Hezbollah ceasefire agreement.

While some Israeli diplomats say that Israel could normalize relations with Lebanon and Syria, others are skeptical, warning that hostilities on Israel's northern borders could deteriorate into war.

Are Lebanon, Syria ripe for peace with Israel, or are they on cusp of more escalation?
