Iran-linked group claims stabbing in Jewish area in London: What to know

A mysterious Iran-linked group claimed stabbings in a Jewish neighborhood in London on Wednesday, following a string of related attacks in the United Kingdom and mainland Europe.
What happened: Two Jewish men were stabbed by an assailant in Golders Green, a heavily Jewish neighborhood, on Wednesday. The 45-year-old male suspect was tasered and arrested on suspicion of attempted murder, and Metropolitan Police declared the event a terrorist incident. The victims, aged 76 and 34, are in stable condition, the BBC reported.
Harakat Ashab al-Yamin al-Islamiya (HAYI), which translates to “the Islamic Movement of the Companions of the Righteous,” said in a video disseminated by Iranian proxies platforms on social media that it conducted a stabbing attack in London and published footage of the incident, saying it was in response to the recent prisoners law passed in Israel.
“If the law authorizing the execution of prisoners is not halted, you will be executed in the streets,” said the group.
