From cyberattacks to airstrikes, Trump has host of options on Iran
The White House has a bevy of options to turn up the heat on Iran's government short of regime change, former US military and intelligence officials say.
WASHINGTON — US President Donald Trump suggested on Sunday that his administration is open to talks with Iran’s leaders as Tehran seeks to avert his threat of US military strikes amid the most widespread popular uprising against the Iranian government since 2022.
“The military is looking at it. And we’re looking at some very strong options,” Trump told reporters aboard Air Force One on Sunday. The cabinet is set to meet Tuesday to discuss options for intervention against Iran, the Wall Street Journal first reported.
The death toll continued to mount in cities across Iran over the weekend, with a Norway‑based rights group reporting that at least 648 people have been killed and thousands more arrested amid the nationwide crackdown.
