Israel’s government will on Thursday night meet to approve the list of Palestinian prisoners set to be released in the framework of President Donald Trump’s plan for ending the Gaza war after the smaller security cabinet votes to ratify the agreement.

At the same time, Israeli officials are preparing for the release of 20 living hostages held in Gaza either on Saturday or Sunday and for a possible visit by the US president on Sunday.

According to Ynet, Trump is set to arrive in Israel for the release of the hostages and to address the Knesset, Israel's parliament, at the invitation of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. The Hostages and Missing Families Forum invited Trump to visit Hostages Square in Tel Aviv, where most of the demonstrations for their release have taken place over the past two years so that the families can thank him for his engagement in reaching a deal. The White House has not confirmed the president's visit.

Meanwhile, US envoy Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner arrived in Israel Thursday directly from Sharm el-Sheikh in Egypt, where they helped clinch the deal between Israel and Hamas.
