Sudan: 14 killed in camp shelling blamed on RSF as Darfur violence grows
An attack on the Abu Shouk displacement camp in El Fasher has killed 14 people amid ongoing assaults on civilians and humanitarian convoys.
Sudan’s paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF) has allegedly attacked a displacement camp in North Darfur, following days of reports of attacks on aid convoys in the state.
What happened: A Facebook post from the Abu Shouk Emergency Room — located on the outskirts of El Fasher, North Darfur — said that “violent artillery shelling” by the RSF resulted in the death of 14 civilians and the injury of others.
The Abu Shouk Emergency Room is a local organization that provides humanitarian and health services in the camp and often posts updates on attacks at the camp.
The group said the RSF fired toward the Naivasha market and residential neighborhoods.
