Rubio announces sanctions on ICC judges over US, Israel probes

WASHINGTON — The Trump administration on Thursday imposed sanctions on four International Criminal Court judges in retaliation for a set of war crimes probes involving Israel and the United States.
Secretary of State Marco Rubio accused the four of engaging in what he called the court's "illegitimate and baseless actions."
"The ICC is politicized," Rubio said in a statement. "This dangerous assertion and abuse of power infringes upon the sovereignty and national security of the United States and our allies, including Israel."
The sanctions target Solomy Balungi Bossa of Uganda, Luz del Carmen Ibanez Carranza of Peru, Reine Adelaide Sophie Alapini Gansou of Benin and Beti Hohler of Slovenia.
